TEREBRA PINION
(SH-12)
Indo-Australia , 16" x 20"
Several species of snails from the family Turritellidae are used to form the Terebra Pinion. The Terebra, or "Augar snail" of Indo-Australia is a common, aggressively predatory gastropod that is housed within an elegant spiral shell with a progressive, distinctive whorl.
The muted, earthy tones of the various species used in this piece have a softening effect on the otherwise dramatic presentation.
