The giant sea snails known as Spider Conchs can usually be found in shallow reefs or mangroves where they feed on red algae and other plants.   They are an important food source in many islands throughout the Pacific.  Spider conch shells are highly variable in color with hues ranging from pink to orange to purple.  They have been prized by collectors for generations.
