Possibly the most beautiful damselfly I have ever encountered, this species of Zygoptera can be found on several islands in the South Pacific. It is a helpful predator of biting pests such as mosquitoes and flies. Its remarkable metallic coloration is quite variable - specimens can range in color from deep, cobalt blue to blue-green to a dark iridescent palette reminiscent of an oil sheen .
